$26 with advanced reservation; $32 day of; Members $26

Historian Robert Asplund returns to the mansion to present some of the indiscreet history in the county. A Victorian tea will follow his presentation.

The Berkshires’ rich history is punctuated with noted artists and writers, statesmen and diplomats, the List of 400, powerful bankers, lawyers and American industrial giants. We have all heard about the Berkshires’ connections to the socially elite.  But what do we know about the county’s socially indiscreet?

Many of the most prominent cottagers and visitors may have had sterling public reputations.  But were they immune to moral missteps and other indiscretions?  Depending on the perspectives of the audience, these “cads, trollops and traitors” might be considered in Asplund’s own words, “heroes, libertines and loyal statesmen!”

Asplund participated for many years in Environmental Policy for a Richmond, Virginia-based corporation.  He is currently Clerk of the Commonwealth of Virginia House of Delegates’ Science and Technology Committee.

Cost to attend is $26 for advance reservations and $32 day of the event.  Reservations are highly recommended as attendance is limited.  For reservations call us at 413-637-3206.
