The second of four sessions! Each one unique and different. 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
A unique, Gilded-Age experience designed to be both fun and educational for the contemporary kid! With creative indoor/outdoor projects and activities that include crafts, games, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, nature activities and more, participants will enjoy our 1893 mansion, grounds and exhibits. Includes fascinating special guest speakers such as award-winning cake decorator Cile Bellefleur-Burbidge with her husband, John Burbidge creator of Les Petite Dames de Mode, illustrator of childrens' books like the popular Junie B. Jones series and Read All About It written by First Lady Laura Bush and her daughter Jenna Hager, Denise Brunkus, and Julie Agar, to discuss the language of the fan! Features a formal tour of the mansion and its history, tailored to the children. The week will culminate with a Victorian Tea prepared by the children for their invited guests. Open to ages 7-12. As in years past, participants are encouraged to bring a special doll (particularly those related to history) or stuffed animal friend.
